Overview

St. Joseph's Villa is currently recruiting a Custodial Technician to join the Facilities Department. The position works under the direction and supervision of the Facilities Manager. The Custodial Technician is responsible for general cleaning of the building/offices they are assigned and assist with any maintenance orders. 

 

All work is performed within an organizational and systems-based framework. Work is performed collaboratively with and in support of other services offered by St. Joseph's Villa. Work is performed safely, effectively, to the highest ethical standards, and in accordance with regulatory and accrediting standards and St. Joseph’s Villa’s mission, values, and guiding principles. 

 

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm

Hourly Rate: $20 - $24

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Performs routine cleaning of St Josephs Villa vehicle fleet, outside and inside of buses and vans as well as sanitizing the inside of all fleet vehicles.
  • Keeps records on repair and maintenance of all fleet vehicles as well as coordinating oil changes and inspections as they become due.
  • Provide light service of vehicles, jumping and changing batteries and wipers, and coordinating repairs with garages.
  • Provide emergency bus delivery in case of a breakdown and deliver fleet vehicles to repair and maintenance appointments.
  • Perform morning starts of buses every Monday and Wednesday to keep batteries charged and ensure they are working correctly before their use.
  • Performs maintenance duties and completes tickets when needed as well as works with Facilities maintenance technicians to complete jobs.
  • Performs on call duty as designated.
  • Performs repairs on trash receptacles,  paper dispensers,  soap dispensers.
  • Cleans up spills,  cleans windows,  cobwebs,  dumps trash.
  • Performs various clean ups around the Villa when needed.
  • Maintains inventory of cleaning items and advises Facilities Manager when items are needed
  • Advises Facilities Manager of damage to facilities, furniture or accessories noticed in the course of performing regularly assigned duties.

Qualifications

  • Valid Virginia driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Able to squat, kneel, twist, and crawl and to lift 40 lbs regularly and 100 lbs occasionally with hand truck assistance.
  • Comfortable performing repairs in confined spaces and under buildings.
  • Able to work on extension ladders and operate lifts.
  • Able to work in the elements. 
  • Able to use proprietary software.
