St. Joseph's Villa is currently recruiting a Behavior Interventionist to join the Villa Education Center. Under the direction and guidance of the Clinical Supervisor this position is responsible for on-going assessment of students’ behavioral needs, designing appropriate behavior plans, and supporting classroom staff in determining effective means to facilitate positive behavioral changes.

Specific responsibilities include the coordination of an overall written behavioral program of services; coordination of program staff in relationship to Service Plans for students, and providing direct professional behavioral services to students and their families in keeping with the policies and procedures of St. Joseph's Villa.

The Behavior Interventionist serves as a member of the program’s treatment team and assists in planning and organizing behavioral services within the policies and procedures of St. Joseph's Villa. The position’s focus is upon development of and participation in a team approach with other program staff to ensure quality services to students and their families.

All work is performed safely, in accordance with the highest professional ethical standards, and in alignment with St. Joseph’s Villa mission, values, and guiding principles.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7:30am - 3:30pm

Salary: $22.10

• Participates as an active member in a team approach to the delivery of services to students
• Serves as a member of the Treatment and Resource Team
• Assists Treatment Specialist in coordinating and participating in the treatment teams for his/her service, with treatment decisions and with follow-through of those decisions
• Provides consultation to teachers and other faculty regarding implementation of behavior plans
• Through standardized, diagnostic and informal assessments, participates in the development and implementation of behavior plans, objectives and methods necessary for providing effective services to individual clients and families
• Oversees training on and implementation of the behavior management system appropriate for each student
• Monitors progress and accurate data collection of behavior management system to evaluate its effectiveness 
• Participates in staff meetings, community meetings, and other staff and program group activities that support the operation of an effective program (may include parent conferences with teachers and caregivers)
• Acts as liaison with community casework staff and wrap around services staff for holistic service planning including FAPT, IEP and or VA LEND as appropriate
• Works with other staff (teachers, Resource Team) with students in crisis, providing support and reinforcement of sound behavioral strategies and plans
• Uses approved behavior management interventions to work with all students
• Assumes active role in designing and implementing in-service training programs on innovations in the field
• Provides professional behavior support services to students and their families, individually and in groups on a regularly scheduled basis
• Participates in the development of progress/evaluation reports on students
• Maintains accurate individual case records for students under his/her supervision within state licensing and professional accreditation standards
• Assists in student intake, admissions and discharge planning
• Maintains sight and sound supervision
• Follows established protocol in identifying and reporting instances of suspected child abuse or neglect
• Advises Principal and/or other management team members of any performance issues in the classroom, whether student or faculty
• Works with the team to identify student’s needs in alignment with appropriate interventions, strategies and services to include recommendations substantiated by supporting data
• Participates in faculty meetings and other group activities including after school and evening programs
• Attends trainings required by St. Joseph’s Villa and when appropriate, staff development opportunities on and off campus
• Performs other duties as directed or required

• BA/BS with 2 or more years of experience with relevant population or equivalent experience of 4 or more years with relevant population: children with behavioral or developmental disabilities preferably in special education setting.  
• Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). 
• Valid Virginia driver’s license and good driving record.
