Overview

St. Joseph’s Villa is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Facilities Manager to work under the direction of the Director of Facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring that all buildings and grounds are properly maintained by scheduling, directing, and performing maintenance work while supervising maintenance staff.

 

All work is performed within an organizational, systems-based framework and in close collaboration with other Villa programs and services. The Facilities Manager supports St. Joseph’s Villa’s mission by ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, ethically, and in compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and organizational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, motivate, and evaluate all Maintenance Technicians; direct the performance of all facilities-related work.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for daily physical plant needs; organize workflows, schedules, and work processes to ensure timely completion and quality outcomes.
  • Supervise and perform maintenance work as needed, including carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, painting, drywall/plaster repair, glass replacement, steam vent and tunnel cleaning, and moving equipment and furniture.
  • Collaborate with program staff and leadership to assess facilities needs, prioritize work, and minimize disruption while supporting client wellbeing and organizational mission.
  • Supervise contractors as needed and make recommendations regarding cost-effective use of internal vs. contracted services.
  • Ensure services are delivered within budget; track expenditures and assist in developing preventative maintenance plans and schedules.
  • Monitor campus Building Automation System (BAS).
  • Coordinate purchasing and inventory of tools, equipment, parts, and supplies; oversee tool distribution and custody.
  • Assist the Director of Shared Resources with maintenance of Villa vehicles.
  • Attend required training programs, staff meetings, and professional development activities.
  • Promote positive community relations through professional conduct on and off campus.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
  • Minimum 10 years of facilities maintenance experience, including at least 5 years supervising a maintenance team.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in operating and maintaining a plant facility, including planned, preventative, and emergency maintenance programs.
  • EPA Universal Certification required.
