Overview

Job Summary: Under the guidance of a Behavior Specialist, Program Manager, or Clinical Supervisor, you'll play a crucial role in providing support and supervision to clients within our Crisis Stabilization Unit. Our unit caters to children aged 5–17 who face behavioral and emotional challenges, as well as those with cognitive or developmental delays. Your work will be integral to maintaining a safe, nurturing environment that aligns with our psycho-educational model and systemic approach, while collaborating closely with other services offered by St. Joseph's Villa.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Personal Care Assistance: Provide compassionate support with personal care tasks such as feeding, toileting, and bathing, ensuring the comfort and well-being of clients.

  2. Environmental Safety: Contribute to creating and maintaining a safe and healthy environment within the unit, prioritizing the physical and emotional safety of clients and staff alike.

  3. Meal Coordination and Preparation: Collaborate with culinary services to ensure timely ordering and procurement of meals and food supplies. Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for clients, adhering to dietary guidelines and preferences.

  4. Client Escort and Transportation: Assist in escorting clients to various on-site activities and off-unit locations, ensuring their safety and engagement. Provide transportation support for off-campus appointments as needed.

  5. Laundry Assistance: Support clients by assisting with laundry tasks, maintaining cleanliness and organization within the unit's facilities.

  6. Admission and Discharge Support: Prepare rooms for client admissions and discharges, ensuring smooth transitions and a welcoming environment for incoming and departing individuals.

  7. Supervision and Communication: Maintain sight and sound supervision of clients at all times, remaining attentive to their needs and behaviors. Handle unit phone inquiries and assist with document faxing as necessary.

  8. Supply Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of essential supplies within the unit, proactively addressing any shortages or needs to ensure seamless operations.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional relevant training or certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or working with individuals with behavioral or developmental challenges is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated organizational abilities and attention to detail, particularly in managing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Commitment to upholding professional ethics and adherence to organizational values and principles.
