The Behavior Specialist carries a range of responsibilities centered on delivering behavioral services to children and their families within a Crisis Receiving Center (CRC). This role requires a balance of clinical expertise, practical skills in managing a therapeutic environment, and strong collaborative abilities to support both children and their families effectively.
Primary Focus: Maintain a therapeutic environment, implement de-escalation strategies, and address immediate needs of children and families in the CRC program.
Methodology: Utilize the Crisis Now Model to manage a caseload and provide services within the CRC.
Education: Must be registered as QMHP-T or QMHP-C. BS/BA degree in Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.
Experience: Two years of related experience with at least one year of clinical experience with children.
License: Valid Virginia driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
