Under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services, this position is responsible for assisting the direction to develop supervision structure, implementing internships, clinical trainings and clinical compliance audits and program oversight of Outpatient Services. Establishes and maintains relationships with community resources to maximize efficacy of services offered. Advocates for the clients and the Villa in the community.


All work is performed within a systems-based framework, adhering to the highest professional ethic standard and in compliance with St. Joseph’s Villa’s mission, values and guiding principles. The Clinical Services Manager is responsible for the provision of and referral to all appropriate therapeutic services provided to the children and families receiving services.




Develops and delivers in-service trainings to improve staff competencies in clinical and therapeutic interventions


Ensures that staff receives training to meet mandated standards, develop their professional abilities, and prepare them for advancement opportunities


Develops and presents or coordinates in-service trainings to improve staff competencies in clinical and therapeutic interventions.


Maintains clinical training material particularly related to relevant SJV policies and procedures and SJV clinical approaches. Available for consultation with teaching staff regarding location, acquisition, and appropriateness of specific materials


Liaises and participates with community resources (such as VA-LEND) and trainings as appropriate.


Follows established procedures to report critical incidents and suspected abuse and/or neglect. Responds to charges of inappropriate treatment.


Coordinates with services on a regular basis to verify consistent and accurate tracking of clinical outcome measures.




Provides logistical support and orientation of assigned clinical staff and interns


Oversees clinical internship processes


Monitors clinical activities, clinical schedule and utilization of clinical resources to insure quality standards are met


Participates as an active member in a team approach to the delivery of services to clients.





Evaluates work processes and methods; staffing levels, qualifications and training needs; and tools, equipment, and physical resources and submits recommendations for continuous quality improvement




Upholds quality clinical practices for children and adolescents, and their families


Provides necessary leadership to insure effective use of treatment teams


Implements and coordinates delivery of effective wraparound services


Participates in management and treatment team meetings, relevant community meetings and other activities that support the effective operation for the services


Participates in staff meetings, community meetings, and other staff and program group activities that support the operation of a treatment program as needed


Develops, trains and/or coaches the development behavior/treatment plans, objectives and methods necessary for providing effective services to individual persons served and their families.


Analyzes and documents behavioral patterns and needs for each person served.


Promotes good parent and community relations and appropriately assesses services for appropriate wrap around services to support quality of life for person’s served.


Maintains and oversees all appropriate persons’ served documentation from referral through discharge by rotating Case Record Review (CRR) auditing and reporting.




Supports Villa’s efforts in licensing, certification and accreditation issues


Assists in developing standards and documentation for licensing and accreditation authorities. Ensures program is, at minimum, operated according to regulatory, licensure and accreditation standards.


Responsible for Clinical On-Call training and clinical on-call scheduling


Coordinates and monitors quarterly case record reviews and submits aggregated report findings for compliance and reports findings to Director.




Maintains statistical and evaluative data, preparation of monthly reports and other reports as required and maintains an accurate receipt system for expenditures.




Assists in the development of program goals, objectives and policies consistent with those of St. Joseph’s Villa.


Assists with clinical strategic planning for the Villa. Maintains evaluative and statistical data; prepares monthly, annual, and other reports as required.


Demonstrates compliance with recordkeeping requirements of DMAS, DBHDS, Human Rights and COA through file and client record reviews, documentation, client outcomes and clinical continuity (Compliance, Documentation, Outcomes)


Assumes regular on-call responsibilities


Performs other duties as assigned.



Master’s degree in human service related field. Licensed preferred: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed National Certified Counselor (NCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Psychologist (LPsy) accepted by the State of Virginia. Minimum 2 years counseling/therapeutic experience with relevant populations and 2 years of project management experience including use of evaluative data and preparing professional reports. Proficient with Windows, Outlook, internet access, MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
